The Nelson Planning Board
undertakes a broad mission to further the welfare of the citizens of Nelson and Munsonville by helping to create and preserve a healthful, convenient, efficient and attractive community environment. The Planning Board believes that our physical as well as our social and economic community is a single organism, all features and activities of which are related and interdependent. There is a need for the application of intelligent foresight and planned administrative and legal coordination, if balance, harmony, and order are to be insured. It is the task of planning to supply this foresight and this overall coordination.
To that end, Nelson's Planning Board is responsible for conducting hearings, and making rulings on applications for subdivisions and boundary line adjustments.
The Planning Board meets on the second Thursday of the month, usually in the Town Office (Brick Schoolhouse), but sometimes in the Town Hall if there is a public hearing scheduled. As there are occasional exceptions to the scheduled meeting time, please call the Town Office at 603-847-0047 during town office business hours if you are planning to attend a meeting to confirm the time, and to indicate if you have a matter to be put on the agenda.

We strive to have a board that is balanced in terms of gender, age and the different geographical areas of Nelson.
