Our Board of Directors: Moving In Step

As Moving In Step focuses on revitalizing community and activities in Nelson NH, while emphasizing the town's natural and historically significant assets, the Board of Directors provides support.

It is comprised of three Officers: President, Treasurer, and Secretary, and not more than nine other members of the community.
Elections and appointments are held at the Annual Meeting.

The Board of Directors for Moving In Step meets quarterly to discuss the progress of projects currently underway. A main task at quarterly meetings will be the approval of proposals for project funds brought by committee chairs. The membership resolved that each committee chair submitting a proposal for MIS funds should present his/her proposal in person to the Board. At least 3 members of the Board must be present to vote on a funding proposal. To accommodate immediate needs for funding, during the 2011-2012 year, the Board will meet as needed to hear funding proposals from committee chairs. A Request Form will be made available soon to the community.

For the year 2011 - 2012, the Board of Directors are meeting on September 15th and December 15th of 2011, and in April and July of 2012. An Annual Board Meeting takes place in August of each year.

As you can see, the Board of Directors is responsible for many things, including fundraising for several community projects and activities. Some of these have included the planning and execution of the Nelson Community Forum held in September of 2010, the publication of a community Phone Directory, the funding for this website and a weekly email newsletter, and the formation of several on-going committees.
