Indeed we are part of a strong community of very talented people who wish to help meet the needs of our neighbors and friends!

So many ideas for new community projects will come out of the Nelson Community Forum this month! As these projects begin to take shape you will be able to keep up with their progress here. This webpage will be providing a short summary of each of the projects and supply a means of communication, be it an email address or a phone number, so that you can get involved.

Some current projects are a result of the community observing that there was a need for more and faster communication between residents. As a result, the weekly Calendar of Events newsletter was begun in early 2009.

The weekly calendar of events is an email newsletter that is delivered, free of charge to subscribers, each Wednesday afternoon electronically to everyone's Inbox. Over time, this newsletter has evolved with the changes in electronic messaging and the result is a stunning, information packed, town messaging system.

You are invited to add your name to the subscription list simply by writing your email address in the space provided at the bottom left side of this page.

A 1st Thursday Pot Luck Supper is held at 6:30 on the evening of the first Thursday of each month. Some months a Guest Speaker may be present. Other months we get to visit with our neighbors over plates of home made goodies. Everyone is invited to attend. There's never a charge for this evening of sharing.
